Join the Oaklands Neighbourhood Small Grants Program Resident Advisory Committee

Review the Neighbourhood Small Grants applications and make decisions about which projects are funded. This program offers up to $500 to residents for projects that connect and engage people in their neighbourhood.

Benefits of joining the Resident Advisory Committee include:

  • Getting to know other people in the neighourhood
  • Giving back to your community
  • Developing leadership skills
  • Gaining experience in community development, philanthropy and decision-making
  • Fun!

The volunteer commitment is approximately 2-5 hours per month in April/May and November. Members will attend an orientation in April and will meet in May for 2-3 sessions to make final grant decisions after reviewing applications online. You can still apply for a Neighbourhood Small Grant but you will not review your own application. Meetings are held at Quadra Village Community Centre, 901 Kings Road.

Connect with Rowena Locklin if you're like to get involved.
